Applying DTF transfers involves pre-pressing the garment, heat-pressing the transfer with proper temperature and pressure, peeling the film, and curing for durable results.

1. Prepare the Garment
Pre-wash the garment to remove sizing or chemicals that may affect adhesion.
Pre-press the garment for 3–10 seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles, creating a flat surface for the transfer. 

2. Position the Transfer
Place the DTF transfer film on the garment with the printed side facing down and the carrier sheet facing up.
Use heat-resistant tape if needed to secure the transfer and prevent shifting. 
Align the design carefully, centering it on the garment.

3. Set Heat Press Parameters
Temperature: Typically 300–320°F (150–160°C), but can vary by fabric and transfer type. 
Time: 12–18 seconds for most transfers; adjust based on fabric thickness and ink formulation. 

Pressure: Medium to firm, ensuring even contact across the design. 

Use a commercial-grade heat press; home irons or small presses may not provide consistent pressure. 
 

4. Apply the Transfer
Cover the transfer with a silicone mat, Teflon sheet, or parchment paper to protect the garment and press surface. 

Close the heat press and apply steady, even pressure for the recommended time. Avoid sliding the transfer to prevent smudging. 

5. Peel the Film
Cold peel: Allow the transfer to cool completely before removing the carrier sheet.
Hot peel: Remove the carrier sheet immediately after pressing if the transfer is designed for hot peel. 

If edges lift or the design is incomplete, re-press for 10–15 seconds and try peeling again. 

6. Cure and Finish
Allow the garment to rest for at least 24 hours before washing.
For extra durability, press again briefly with a Teflon sheet or parchment paper. 

7. Care
Wash garments inside-out and air-dry or use a low-heat setting to preserve the design.
